From Santa Barbara to Hermosa Beach. This little beach town is about 20 minutes outside of Los Angeles and the home to some of my favorite family friends. They offered for us to stay with them overnight so we could see LA without the costs of staying in LA.
By the time we arrived in Hermosa beach around midday, Eliza and I were hot and hungry. My friend Brendan took us to one of his favorite sushi places where we had a couple of great rolls. After lunch, we headed to the pool to cool off. And that's where we spent the rest of the daylight hours.
We asked for Brendan to show us around town and he brought us to the pier. It was a really nice 15 minute walk along the beach to arrive at the pier that was full of restaurant options, dancing clubs, and souvenir shops. We found a restaurant that interested all three of us and sat down to a nice dinner. Eliza had a BBQ Mahi sandwich, Brendan had lobster rolls, and I had paella.
As we were sitting enjoying dinner and each others company, a creepy fog started to roll in. At first it was just a fine mist. Then, we were engulfed in a full on cloud! We were even find of getting rained on even though we were sitting under a patio cover. It was a very strange experience. Eliza and I were both craving ice cream so we walked a bit down the pier and found a gelato shop with some amazing flavors.
Even though it had cooled of with the mist and even more with the gelato, by the time we got back to the house, we were hot and exhausted. Even though it was a short day, it was a lot of fun and relaxing. Just the kind of night we need to prepare for our day in LA and Hollywood the next day. Stay tuned!
