I left Laguna Hills early in the morning. It was really sad to have Eliza wave me down the driveway just like my parents had over a month before. A few tears later, still in Laguna, I ran a couple errands. Yes, there are still things that need doing on road trips, like going to the bank, filling prescriptions, and waiting in long lines at the post office fun! After all this, I made my way down to San Diego, where the unofficial motto is 72 and Sunny! 86, sunny, and 40% humidity is more like it. Not a complaint, just an observation.
If you've been following my blogs, you know I haven't got to any zoos yet on this trip. Technically, I went to a drive-thru zoo in Rapid City, South Dakota, but I'm not really counting that because I was in my car the whole time and there were no animals from Africa. I was saving my zoo experience for the San Diego Zoo. The mother of all zoos. There is so much to do at this zoo, I was there from 12:30pm until 6:15pm. At one point, I got a whiff of something that I thought was a dirty cage and realized it was me. It was hot out and I was there for almost six hours. Don't judge.
There's not much to narrate here, so I'll just let you enjoy your virtual tour of the San Diego Zoo- minus the smells. You're welcome!
My last stop at the zoo where these two pandas. I knew it was time to leave when this one right above with the adorable smiling face thought it would be funny to unload it's bowels just as I was walking by. And it was funny. But also completely disturbing. But actually, really funny. Just like that panda's butt, it was time for me to run... Wow, I'm so sorry for anyone reading this who doesn't like potty humor. I've been on the road too long to know what manners are anymore.
Anyway, after a poo zoo filled day, all I wanted to do was take a shower and fall asleep, which is exactly what I did. It was glorious. Stay tuned for more San Diego!
