Shlemiel, Schlemazel, Hasenpfeffer Incorporated- Milwaukee

As I drove into Wisconsin, I noticed exactly how quaint this state is. I mean that in the best possible way. Farms with large silos and red barns dot the highways. Cheese stands around every corner. And lots and lots of motorcycles, as Milwaukee is the home to Harley Davidson. Off to the museum I went, completely out of my element, but still very enjoyable.

Never having ridden a motorcycle- or a bike, for that matter- I found the museum very informative and interesting. I was glad I went. But then I started to get very thirsty. I ended up at Lakefront Brewery. I've had some of their beer before, but right from the factory, it was delicious. While I waited for my tour to start, I started with a black IPA and noshed on cheese curds. These cheese curds were huge! Tempura-like fried served with a ranch dressing that tasted more like a tartar sauce/ ranch combo. Wonderful in the moment. Terrible two hours later.

The tour began with our guide introducing himself and clearly marking his territory as resident comic. Filled with lots of humor and the typical beer making process information, the tour ended at a relic in the back of the factory. I'm not sure that they even use it for bottling their beers, but they have the exact bottling line from the opening credits of Laverne and Shirley. Oh, and do they milk every second of having this awesome piece of T.V. history. The tour guide pointed to a poster on the wall, hit a button on a boom box, and yelled, "SING ALONG! THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL!" "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Shlemiel, schlemazel, hasenpfeffer incorporated, we're gonna do it...." He set two bottles in motion complete with the glove while the group sang along. It was the funniest thing I'd seen in a while.

We exited the factory onto the lakeside patio on a beautiful summer day. Snapping a few shots, and drinking a few beers, I left content and full and ready to take on Milwaukee!
